First newsletter published

The first newsletter of the ICT for Health project is published. Issues are:
How can we ensure the future healthcare provision?
How can we empower patients with chronic heart disease by lifelong learning and self-monitoring?
How will ICT for Health achieve its objectives?

The newsletter will be published twice a year featuring the activities, findings, and results of the EU project. It is addressed to the relevant stakeholder e.g. local, regional and national politicians as well as health care professionals and education professionals related to health care.

Project website online

The website of the ICT for Health project is launched under www.ictforhealth.net.

In the first step, the website informs about the objectives and partners of the project. By and by the partners will use the website to get into a dialogue with patients, medical professional and policy makers in form of a moderated blog.

The website is a central tool to raise within the target groups of the project the awareness of the possibilities and benefits of eHealth solutions. Through the website project partners as well have access to the web-based collaboration platform called sharepoint. That will foster an effective internal communication. All relevant documents can be found on this platform.

Financial Officers workshop

On 21th of May 2010, the financial officers of the project partner met in Flensburg, Germany. The participants of the meeting were introduced into the financial guidelines of the European Union, e.g. responsibilities and roles for the financial management and reporting, eligibility of costs and budget lines, time sheets etc.

The meeting was moderated by Frank Jürgensen (dsn). The financial officers of the project partners discussed questions like Financial Reporting procedure at partner level and the reimbursement procedures.

PSC in Aalborg: first decisions

On 17th and 18th of May 2010 the members of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) and work-packages (WP) met in Aalborg, Denmark.

The first day was dedicated to information and discussions on the Project Management Quality Plan, on financial and functional issues, as well as on the status of the work-packages. The PSC members decided on the project logo and the main project messages. Furthermore, the PSC agreed on the proposal to develop a concept for an eHealth acceptance Index.

The next day, the five work-packages discussed their activities and prepared the next steps for the upcoming months.
